Announcing the Equity in Education Scholarship (EES)
The goal of the EES: This scholarship, started in 2020, aims to give underrepresented minorities an opportunity to attend St. Anne’s School of Annapolis that they otherwise would not have had, and to enhance St. Anne’s School’s ability to recruit and retain students whose race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body.
Admissions Criteria and Recruitment:
The EES committee will identify students of color who have attended Annapolis-area elementary schools and who require financial assistance to attend St. Anne’s School of Annapolis. Rising Sixth Grade students can apply.
Selection is based on academic performance, leadership skills, personal interviews with students and their families, teacher recommendations, and determined financial need. Student recruitment efforts include contact with public school administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, friends and family of admitted students, as well as local community and peer organizations.
The EES agreement states that the recipient of the scholarship will receive up to 100% of the costs to attend all Middle School grades at St. Anne’s School of Annapolis on a need-based basis. Students will not need to reapply each year. The amount of financial aid received through the scholarship is determined by a financial assistance eligibility estimate provided by a third party, Smart Aid.
Please see application instructions in the Scholarship Information tab below.
At St. Anne’s School, we understand the sacrifice many parents make in order to provide the best education for their child.
Stemming from our Episcopalian tradition, we value respect, honesty, and kindness. These core values are expressed in conversations with our prospective families when discussing how to make an education at St. Anne’s School possible.
Our school is progressive and intentionally socio-economically diverse. We live our mission by making our exceptional program accessible to families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. We offer affordable solutions in the form of merit- and need-based scholarships for incoming Sixth Grade students, payment plans that can help break down tuition into more manageable amounts, and need-based, flexible tuition through our new Tailored Tuition program.
If you feel St. Anne’s School is the right fit for your child, but are trying to figure out how to make it work financially, we encourage you to start a confidential conversation with Connie Coker, our Associate Head of School. This important step could bring your child closer to an extraordinary educational journey that will guide and inspire them to be one of the purposeful leaders of tomorrow.
