Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher

St. Anne’s School of Annapolis is hiring a Kindergarten Teacher to instruct, guide, and supervise children in a warm, nurturing, student-centered environment that supports differentiated instruction. With the support of the Lower School Program Head, this teacher will establish a safe and caring classroom community in which each child’s strengths, opinions, actions, and thoughts are valued. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach homeroom-based classes, including language arts, mathematics, social studies, and SEL (Social and Emotional Learning)
- Develop assessments, evaluate, and track student progress
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Maintain proactive communication with parents about student progress, including through parent-teacher conferences, report cards, and portfolio conferences
- Lead morning meeting using a Responsive Classroom approach
- Work collaboratively and support team teachers in the other departments
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events outside the life of the classroom
- Chaperone field trips, including possible overnight trips
- Complete lunch, recess, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years teaching elementary students, preferably in an independent school setting
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred

- Experience teaching math that promotes conceptual understanding, factual knowledge, and procedural fluency
- Knowledge of current research and best practices in brain-based teaching and learning
- Experience with Project-Based Learning is a plus

Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

Position Description
The Kindergarten Assistant Teacher is a vital member of the classroom teaching team. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in supervising, instructing, and guiding children within the classroom. In partnership with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher establishes a safe and caring classroom community where each child’s strengths, opinions, actions, and thoughts are valued. The Assistant Teacher uses appropriate language and tone and utilizes the principles of Responsive Classroom in all interactions with the children. The Assistant Teacher promotes the school’s mission and professionally conducts him/herself in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Teacher:
- Works under the direct instruction of the Lead Teacher in the classroom and the general supervision of the Director of Lower School
- Assists the Lead Teacher in classroom set-up in August and classroom break-down in June
- Attends Classroom Meet and Greet at the start of the school year
- Participates in Arrival, Lunch, Recess, and Dismissal duties as assigned daily
- Assists the Lead Teacher in the supervision of children
- Assists the Lead Teacher in maintaining the classroom's cleanliness, organization, and safety (sweeps, wipes tables, washes art materials, returns used materials to proper places, etc.)
- Assists with daily attendance via My Compass in the absence of the lead teacher
- Assists Lead Teacher with clerical or office tasks (laminating, copying, bulletin boards, etc) as assigned and within assistants scheduled hours
- Assumes the role of Lead Teacher in the lead teacher’s absence
- Accompanies children to Links classes and supports the Links teachers as needed
- Attends all Lower School meetings called by the Director of Lower School
- Participates in scheduled staff Professional Development days as indicated on the school calendar
- Attend Lower School special events appropriate for grade level (Back to School Night, Grandfriends’ Day, The Friendly Beasts performance, etc.)
- Attends Parent/Teacher Conferences in the fall and spring
- Submits requests for leave to the Head of Lower School and Informs Lead Teacher in advance of scheduled absences
- Immediately notifies the Head of Lower School and lead teacher when running late or taking unscheduled leave
- Refer parent questions concerning the growth and development of their children to the Lead Teacher
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Director of Lower School during designated hours, including, but not limited to, the following: Calling parents in the absence of the lead teacher, assisting children in the bathroom, reading books, playing games, washing art supplies, filling water bottles, wiping tables, supervising special projects, covering in other classrooms, etc.
- Assists the lead teacher with documentation, including recording children’s dialogue, taking photos, and writing anecdotal records.

Facilities Coordinator

Position Summary
St. Anne’s School of Annapolis seeks candidates for a Facilities Coordinator. The Facilities Coordinator serves as a key partner to the Chief Finance and Operations Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety, and appearance of the campus. This position serves as the primary point of contact for facilities-related needs, ensuring that classrooms, offices, common areas, and outdoor spaces are safe, functional, and welcoming for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, and a person who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will help drive projects forward, coordinate vendors and compliance efforts and manage logistics.
This position requires someone who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and genuinely cares about supporting the mission St. Anne’s School of Annapolis through excellent operational leadership and service.
The Facilities Coordinator works closely with school leadership and oversees relationships with external service providers, including janitorial, landscaping, HVAC, security, and maintenance vendors.
Essential Responsibilities:
Campus Operations & Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance when appropriate.
- Coordinate and monitor repairs performed by outside contractors.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.
- Ensure campus facilities are clean, safe, and operational each day.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with janitorial, landscaping, pest control, HVAC, security, and other facilities vendors.
- Schedule and oversee vendor work to ensure quality and contract compliance.
- Obtain quotes and assist with vendor selection for facilities projects and repairs.
- Monitor service agreements and recommend improvements when needed.
Event Support
- Coordinate room setups and breakdowns for school events, meetings, performances, admissions events, and community gatherings.
- Ensure facilities are prepared and restored following events.
Safety & Compliance
- Support campus safety initiatives and emergency preparedness planning.
- Assist with fire drills, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Monitor building security and report concerns promptly.
Grounds Management
- Oversee the appearance and maintenance of outdoor spaces, walkways, parking areas, and playgrounds.
- Coordinate seasonal projects, including snow and ice management.
Capital Planning & Summer Projects
- Assist with planning and execution of summer maintenance projects.
- Support capital improvement projects by coordinating contractors, timelines, and campus logistics.
- Help identify long-term facilities needs and replacement schedules.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Three to five years of facilities, maintenance, property management, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to urgent situations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic work order systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk the campus, climb ladders, and perform light maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule:
Full-time, year-round position. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support school events, emergencies, or special projects.

$55,000 - $60,000, Annualized

Extended Care Staff Position Description
St. Anne’s School of Annapolis is hiring an Extended Day Staff member who will supervise, instruct, and guide children two years old through Eighth Grade in a warm and nurturing environment before and/or after their regular school day. With the support of the Director, this teacher will establish a safe and caring classroom community in which each child’s strengths, opinions, actions, and thoughts are valued. The Extended Day Staff member will promote the School’s mission and conduct him/herself in a professional manner in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in Arrival and Dismissal duties daily.
- Supervises all children, always maintaining proper staff/child ratios.
- Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the classroom (sweeps, wipes tables, washes art materials and dishes, returns used materials to proper places, etc.).
- Chooses and prepares snack; returns unused snack to snack cabinet in pantry.
- Communicates with parents regarding daily happenings.
- Attends and participates in new staff orientation and weekly planning meetings held by the Director.
- Plays group games, creates simple art projects for children.
- Changes diapers and/or assists with toileting as necessary.
Requirements
- Acquires and maintains CPR/First Aid certification (School will cover the cost).
- Acquires ADA and Basic Health & Safety certification (School will cover the cost).
- Completes mandatory Federal & State Background Check.
- Meets the physical demands of child supervision such as lifting children, standing for long periods of time, and assisting children on the playground.
- Childcare or babysitting experience preferred.
Hours
- Before Care hours are 7–8:30 a.m. and After Care hours are 3–6 p.m. You may apply to work Before Care and After Care (encouraged) or choose one option. Extended Day Staff may be asked to provide care for full faculty professional and conference days.
St. Anne’s School seeks inspiring, engaging, and encouraging on-campus substitute teachers to help serve the academic needs of our students in all grades (Twos through Eighth Grade). Substitute teachers will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students in the case of a teacher or instructional assistant absence and may serve in any other duties as assigned by division head including recess supervision, helping with lunches in classrooms, and assisting with carpool pick-up and drop-off. Guest Teachers are expected to comply with all building procedures, expectations, and schedules including, but not limited to, wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining social distancing. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and hold an undergraduate degree in education or related field.
